Round the Island Race

The annual Round the Island Race is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight, and this year's took place on Saturday June 27th. The race regularly attracts over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.

I was fortunate enough to take part this year, and took my G12 along with me to try to record a few of the incredible sights from the day - not that this is easy when the boat is pitching around, and you are supposed to be pulling ropes and grinding winches. Here are a few of the results.
