The Chapelle Sainte-Barbe Faouet

The Chapelle Sainte-Barbe Faouet is a fascinating building, dating from the start of building in 1489 and its finish in 1512. It is built on a ledge of rock in the cliff face of Roc’h ar Marc’h some 180 meters above sea level. You approach it by way of some steep and slippery stone steps. The Chapelle is in need of some TLC. Its location is well off the beaten track some 10km outside the market town of Faouet, which may explain why there are no signs of vandalism inside or out, just neglect.
