Tony
Davies shared some lovely images of Westonbirt Arboretum a couple of
weeks ago. Unfortunately Anne and I haven't had the chance to get
down to Westonbirt, but we did go to Bodenham Arboretum near
Kidderminster last Saturday. www.bodenham-arboretum.co.uk.
This is smaller than Westonbirt and doesn't have the same number of
acers, or the same intensity of colour. However, it is a very
pleasant place to visit and the autumn colours still look good. At
the moment there is the added attraction of a radio-controlled model
boat club meeting there on Saturday afternoons. They also do quite a
trade in carvery lunches, which looked good, though we didn't try
one. There is an admission charge of £6.50pp but there is no charge
if you only go to the restaurant (which looks over the main lake).
