Thanks for the list of bluebell woods sent out last week, and thanks to Rich Marsden for posting photos of New Park Woods, Middleton last year. Anne and I went to the woods today (28th April) and although the sun was hardly out, the trip was well worthwhile. The bluebells are close to their best.

Directions: This wood is just off the side of the A446 London Road. Going from Bassett’s Pole toward the Belfry Golf Club, park in the second lay-by on the left hand side (just over a mile – the one with the speed camera). There is a stile in the hedge half way along the lay-by, and then a footpath across the field.
