Tony's Vintage Cameras - a couple more oldies

The folder is a Goerz dating from the early 1900's and taking 4.25" x 2.5" negs, I don't know what the film size is but it certainly is no longer available. Construction is fairly simple all metal pressings with black leather(?) covering. The lens extends on a twin track and has a focus scale on the base board.

The Periskop lens is a f12 doublet stopping down to f64! Shutter is self cocking with T, B,1/25, 1/50 and 1/100. I was given this camera by a neighbour who found it when clearing out the attic after her mother-in-law's death.

Goerz as one of the four companies that amalgamated to form Zeiss Ikon in 1926.
A French camera made in Morocco the Pontiac Baby Lynx is a simple, fairly crude camera. The MFAP (Manufacture Française d'Appareils Photographiques) company was established in 1938 in Paris. In 1951 camera manufacturing was moved to Morocco, and was discontinued altogether in 1954. My camera therefore dates between '51 and '54 and is reasonably rare especially in the UK. The overall condition is quite good for a 60 year old camera.

The lens is mounted on a tube which collapses into the body Leica style, a half turn locks it in the extended position. My example has a f3.5 50mm Berthiot Flor lens in a Prontor II shutter. The shutter has to be cocked by hand and there is no interlock between the shutter and film wind so double exposures can be a problem. The shutter release is on the rim of the shutter thus saving the cost of the linkage to a body mounted release, an other feature indicating that this is a low cost unit. I also use this camera very occasionallyjust to keep every thing working.
