Black Country + Street Exhibitions

We took the lift in Walsall Art Gallery to see the latest photography exhibitions.
Black Country Stories includes videos of people having spray tans, tattoos, lip piercings and fish pedicures!

"In Conversation" Saturday 8th September - join Mark Power with Emma Chetcuti from Multistory and Neil Lebeter from the New Art Gallery, Walsall for an informal tour of the exhibition. Book a free place in advance by phoning reception on 01922 654400.

The Street Exhibition Guide explains, "The street can be a place to work, to live or to shop. It can be a focus for bustling activity and a celebration of diversity. It can also be a site for conflict, loneliness, alienation and economic gloom. This exhibition brings together artists who explore the darker side of the urban environment as well as those who celebrate its potency as a glimpse of modern life."  ...so don't visit if you're feeling down.

Our favourite sequence of images was the goal posts on Floor 4.
